Smith, Government Video As the U.S. government changes from “old-school technologies” into high-definition Internet protocol (IP) video conferencing systems, LifeSize offers a telepresence system that provides viewers with details that cannot be seen with the naked eye.
As the federal government is working to move all their video conferencing onto IP, each agency’s IT staff is “very concerned about the amount of bandwidth required,” Doug Miller, LifeSize’s director, federal channels, told Government Video. LifeSize Conference 220 is a high-definition video communications system that uses about 30 percent of the bandwidth of other systems, while maintaining high-definition quality video, he said.
LifeSize conducted a survey of federal government IT professionals to learn more about their opinions of telework centers as a solution for teleworking in the federal government. Click here to download the results.
