WEEE Compliance - Finland

Collection and Recycling Arrangements in Finland

LifeSize products are sold in Finland by channel partners. The channel partner acts as the importer of the equipment into Finland. Thus the channel partner has the legal responsibility to:

  • Register as the WEEE producer in Finland.
  • Provide arrangements for collection and recycling of WEEE arising from LifeSize products that the channel partner sells in Finland.

Under the Finnish Waste Act which implements regulations for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) which came into force on August 13th 2005, for equipment that you buy from a LifeSize channel partner after August 13th 2005, the channel partner is required to provide arrangements for the collection, treatment, recycling and recovery of the waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) that your new purchase replaces, on a one-for-one, like-for-like basis. The old equipment that your new purchase from the LifeSize channel partner replaces is referred to as Historic WEEE.

Under the Waste Act, the LifeSize channel partner is also required to provide arrangements for the collection, treatment, recycling and recovery of any new electrical and electronic equipment that you buy from them after August 13th 2005, when that new equipment eventually becomes waste. This is referred to as New WEEE.

LifeSize has decided to provide arrangements for WEEE collection and recycling on behalf of its channel partners in Finland.

LifeSize covers the following costs for WEEE compliance management in Finland:

  • The costs of treatment, recycling and recovery of the WEEE to meet the targets set by Finland WEEE Regulations;
  • The costs of data management and reporting to the Centre for Economic Development, Traffic and the Environment for Pirkanmaa to demonstrate compliance with all administrative requirements of the Finland WEEE Regulations;
  • The costs of transportation of your WEEE to LifeSize 's appointed recycler in Finland.

LifeSize has established a recycling contract with the European Advanced Recycling Network (EARN) and will cover any costs of treatment, recycling and recovery of the equipment on arrival at the EARN recycling facility in Finland.To arrange collection of your WEEE please contact the EARN partner in Finland directly:
