Videoworks and Poltrona Frau Create the First HD Integrated Conference Table Designed Specifically Around LifeSize® Telepresence

World renowned luxury furniture manufacturer, Poltrona Frau, teams up with Videoworks to realize V2V: the first high end meeting table for telepresence

Austin, Texas, September 15 2009

Leading technology integrator Videoworks, alongside high end furniture manufacturer, Poltrona Frau, selected telepresence systems from LifeSize Communications, the global leader in high definition video communications, to be the technology component behind V2V, the world’s first integrated telepresence conference table.  Combing the exquisite engineering of Italian-made furniture with the world’s most flexible telepresence systems, V2V is a one-of-a-kind solution.

“We believe LifeSize provides the best value for the technology,” said Maurizio Minossi, Videoworks’ Technical Director. “It is flexible and customizable, with very high quality performance. LifeSize is the perfect technology to power the V2V system.”

The V2V system is a modular, expandable telepresence structure, providing tremendous flexibility to the end user. The system can quickly be transformed from a traditional conference table to a high definition telepresence room.

The table itself works on mechanical movement, allowing the HD monitors to raise up from the table, complementing a number of different room configurations. The customized elements such as the wood and leather conceal the network and technical configurations. With LifeSize® Conference 200™ built-in, the room is configured to telepresence or videoconferencing mode with the touch of a button, providing ease of use and practicality.

“We are pleased that companies like Videoworks and Poltrona Frau are working together to create unique, forward-thinking applications for LifeSize products,” said Colin Buechler, senior vice president of Marketing at LifeSize Communications. “Flexibility is one of the key components of LifeSize systems and the V2V solution from Videoworks and Poltrona Frau is an excellent example of how telepresence can be customized to meet the customer’s needs.”
