Download the Client

Anyone can download the PC or Mac client. However, an account is required to use Lifesize Connections.

Get Started and Add Contacts to Your Contact List Using Cloud Based Video Conferencing

Getting started and adding contacts in Lifesize Connections is just as easy as adding a contact in any of your messaging clients such as gTalk, Yahoo! Messenger or AIM.

  1. Open the email from your account administrator. The email includes instructions for downloading the Lifesize Connections client, and your login information.
  2. Launch the Lifesize Connections client, and log in.
  3. Locate the contact you wish to add in the directory and click Add Contact.
  4. If the contact you are looking for is not in your directory, simply enter the email address or Connections ID, if known, in the Email or Connection ID text box. (Should your contact already have a Connections ID, we'll find it for you based on the email address you provide.)
  5. Click Add at the bottom of the window.

That's it! Your contact will be added to your contact list and you can start making video calls.

In just one click, you can make an HD video call, voice call or start chatting. You don't need to worry about firewalls or permissions — it takes just one click from your contact list or directory.

  1. Find your contact in your Contacts or the Directory.
  2. Click the video call icon next to your contact.
  3. Wait for an answer.
  4. To make a voice call, click the Voice Call icon next to your contact’s name.
  5. To start a chat session anytime, even while on a call, click the Chat icon.

That's it! If your contact doesn't answer your video call, he or she will get a notification that you called.

With Lifesize Connections, even multiparty HD video calls are as simple as a click.

  1. Launch the Lifesize Connections client.
  2. Click Conference.
  3. Click the Add to Conference icon next to each contact you wish to add.
  4. Click Call Now at the lower-right of your window.
    Or,
  5. To add contacts to an existing call, click the Plus icon next to their names.
  6. Wait for your contacts to answer

That's it! The new participant(s) will appear in a new window and your screen layout will change to accommodate their arrival. Keep clicking on contacts you wish to add, up to nine participants per call. Enjoy your cloud based video conferencing call!

  1. Click the data sharing icon at the bottom-left of your screen to display a list of sharing preferences.
  2. Click your sharing preference (Window or Desktop) from the list.
  3. Desktop sharing starts immediately. To share a specific window, simply click on the desired window.

That's it! Now all participants in the call will see what you want them to see.

If one or more of your contacts aren't using Lifesize Connections, you can invite them as guests.

  1. Launch the Lifesize Connections client.
  2. Click Add Contact.
  3. Enter your guest's email address and click Add.
  4. If your guest does not already use Lifesize Connections, you will be prompted to invite them.
  5. Click Yes, enter your guest's name and click Invite.

That's it! The guest you invited will receive an email with instructions on how to download the Lifesize Connections client and log in as your guest.

Creating end-user accounts is simple with Lifesize Connections.

  1. Log into your Administrator Console.
  2. Click People in the top navigation.
  3. Click the Add User Manually button to add an individual user.
  4. Provide basic information for the end-user.
  5. To create multiple users accounts at once, click Import Users and simply import a .CSV file.

That's it! The individual or people you created the account for will receive an email and instructions on how to download and install the Lifesize Connections desktop client You are now ready for cloud based video conferencing.

With Lifesize Connections, adding conference rooms is as easy as adding people. Lifesize video conferencing systems can be configured automatically using the serial number and auto-configuration wizard.

Note: You will need a supported video conferencing system to create a room account

  1. Log into your Administrator Console.
  2. Click Rooms in the top navigation.
  3. Click the Add Rooms Manually button to add individual rooms.
  4. To create multiple room accounts at once, click Import Rooms and simply import a .CSV file containing serial numbers of the room systems to be assigned.
  5. Select a provisioning preference (auto or manual).
  6. Enter a Descriptive Name, Serial Number, and Connections ID.
  7. Click the Add button.
  8. On the Lifesize video conferencing system, navigate to Administrator Preferences / Communications / Connections and then select Enable Connections.
  9. If a serial number is unknown for the room system, one can be generated from the Administrator Console and provided to the person setting up the room system.

That's it! The conference room you added will appear in the directory.
