How we reduce our carbon footprint
As we designed the LifeSize PlanetWise program, we engaged the services of a leading environmental consultancy and conducted a thorough environmental audit of our company operations. This audit measured the environmental efficiency and impact of our global operations, calculated the company’s carbon footprint and identified opportunities for environmental improvement.
We learned in our audit that LifeSize is on the right track. Our use of video communications instead of travel has helped us build a world-class, high-growth company with global development, manufacturing and sales operations with greater speed, better business results and less pollution. In the future we will rely even more on video and less on travel.
We also learned that there is much we can do. Fortunately, as environmental awarness has grown, creative, low-carbon green business solutions are emerging every day.
With our audit complete, we continue to implement practices to help minimize, monitor and improve our environmental performance as we grow to be the market leader in our industry. LifeSize will share our environmental best practices through the PlanetWise program.
Our Ongoing Efforts
LifeSize has implemented and revised internal policies regarding travel, recycling, procurement and other operations to ensure that we conduct our business in an environmentally-sensitive manner.
Our preferred mode of "travel" is high definition video. We are passionate users of our products and believe that frequent video calls eliminate the need for routine business travel. When business travel is necessary, we fly as few people as possible, and select the shortest route available.
LifeSize has implemented paper and aluminum can recycling at our corporate headquarters, and we identify opportunities to purchase post-consumer recycled content in our consumable items such as cups, napkins, printer and copier paper. We discourage printing and where possible, we use double-sided printing on our duplexing printers to reduce paper usage.
LifeSize will continue to explore and pursue green business solutions in all areas of our operations. We understand that big improvements are often the result of many small actions.
