LifeSize@EC12: Day 2 Wrap-Up

What a day it has been! Day two at Enterprise Connect was even better (and busier) than the first. We started the day bright and early with a panel discussion featuring LifeSize’s own Simon Dudley. In the session, “Video Conferencing Interoperability: What Is It and How Do We Get It?”, we learned that the user experience of VC should be separate from the technology itself. End users should not have to worry about the complicated IT aspects of the system; it should just work. Simon summed it up well when he said, “Any video conferencing system that requires IT (to set up) has failed.”

Afterwards, we hit the trade show floor to interview a handful of our technology and channel partners, including Carousel, VBrick, Mitel and Windstream. It was great to see their Enterprise Connect booths and learn how they are making a difference in the industry. Here is one of our interviews with VBrick:

LifeSize was front and center in the afternoon with two more sessions. Simon Dudley presented “Understanding the Current Trends in the Video Conferencing Market” in which he discussed key topics such as cloud, virtualization, mobility and simplicity, and how important it is for video conferencing vendors to provide solutions that encompass all four.

Matt Collier also spoke at the show in a session called, “Teleconferencing in the Home – How Will It Impact the Enterprise?”. Matt emphasized how prevalent video is becoming in the home and, as adoption continues to increase, it will become a necessity in the business world, as well.

There is one more day left of the show and we encourage everyone to come visit our booth, #1017. We also have a lot of fun promotions going on:

To end the night, we attended the UCI Forum Reception at the Gaylord Palms Resort. Great food, great conversation and even better company. Here’s a photo of some members of the LifeSize team:
