LifeSize@EC12: Day 3 Wrap-Up

All good things must come to an end. Today marked the last day of Enterprise Connect for LifeSize but we made the most of it! We started the morning with a panel called, “Virtualization: How Much? How Soon?”, moderated by Irwin Lazar of Nemertes Research. Irwin and the panel discussed the benefits and possible challenges that can accompany virtualization. Pros: save money, increase reliability, easy to scale, energy efficient. Challenges: latency, management and ownership. The panel agreed that the best way for a customer to decide if virtualization is right for them is through a pilot or demo program. LifeSize is definitely on the right track with virtualization, especially with the launch of our LifeSize UVC Platform. It was reassuring to know that analysts and other major companies are also on-board with this emerging trend.

After the panel, we headed back to the trade show floor to prepare for the LifeSize-sponsored lunch in the exhibit hall. Yum!

Then, we caught up with David Maldow, analyst and associate editor for Telepresence Options. It was great to hear what he thought of the show.

Since it was the last day of the exhibition, we were eager to give away the rest of our Logitech Ultimate Ears earphones to folks sporting our LifeSize UVC Platform badge. Congratulations to the winners!

For those of you who are staying in Orlando for one more day, be sure to check out Simon Dudley’s presentation tomorrow morning, “Personal Video in the Age of Mobility.” For even more LifeSize coverage of Enterprise Connect, visit our web page here. We will continue to post more videos and interviews soon.

Bonus photo! Check out these tiny alligators that were hanging out in the atrium of the Gaylord Hotel and Convention Center! So cool.
