SVC Demystified: Video – Combining Temporal and Spatial Scalability Part 4 of 7

by Stefan Slivinski, Video Team Manager, LifeSize

In my last two blogs I described temporal and spatial scalability and how they work. It’s important to note that temporal and spatial scalability are not mutually exclusive. In fact, they would most likely be used in conjunction with each other, which creates a single stream that contains multiple resolutions at multiple frame rates.

Take a look at this video where I’ve summarized what we’ve learned so far. Then we’ll talk about how to combine temporal and spatial scalability in the same stream.

Next time we’ll look into how SVC affects the technology you work with every day.
