Earlier this morning, our parent company Logitech (SIX: LOGN) (NASDAQ: LOGI) announced that it is joining forces with GN Netcom to fuel the UC market and continue to provide customers with a full range of high-quality communications solutions.
The first step on this journey is a joint distribution agreement under which Logitech will offer select Jabra headsets and speakerphones through channel partners in North America, beginning in July 2011.
The products Logitech will offer are currently certified to work with Avaya, Microsoft, Cisco and Polycom under the Jabra brand. Logitech plans to confirm certifications with these partners as well as others for the “Logitech powered by Jabra” headsets and speakerphones.
The first three “Logitech powered by Jabra” products will be available in July. These include:
- Logitech BSP420 USB Speakerphone (Jabra SPEAK™ 410)
- Logitech BH970 Wireless DECT Headset (Jabra PRO™ 9450)
- Logitech BH870 Wireless Bluetooth Headset (Jabra GO™ 6430)
“This collaboration with GN Netcom will enable Logitech to be a full solution provider for Unified Communications,” said Gerald P. Quindlen, Logitech president and chief executive officer. “Businesses will now have a single company for a full range of UC solutions – from the meeting room with LifeSize video conferencing end points and infrastructure products to PCs, Macs and tablets with Logitech webcams, headsets and speakerphones.”
At LifeSize, we couldn’t be more excited about Logitech’s partnership and what it means for the UC market. Together, Logitech and LifeSize build open, interoperable products for our consumer and enterprise customers that work with whatever technology they want it to. Close partnerships and open interoperability with widely deployed solutions are critical to us delivering on our vision for UC and today’s announcement is simply proof positive.
