SXSWi was rocking and rolling this weekend and LifeSize was in the middle of all of the action.
One of the most interesting sessions we attended was Does Your Product Have a Plot?, hosted by David Womack of Interaction Design. David discussed the importance of storytelling when promoting products, as this type of approach can deeply resonate with your target market. We were also fortunate enough to attend the session, Enterprise Social Media: Five Emerging Trends, sponsored by IBM. We learned that the “BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) trend” is encouraging more employees to participate in social networking than ever before, since they are always connected to their devices (and their social pages). Social media is truly reshaping corporate culture and the way we find/receive information.
We also attended the Tech Cocktail #StartupLife Celebration on East Sixth Street. It was great to learn about up-and-coming Internet start-ups – so many inspiring ideas.
At the Austin Convention Center, SXSWi attendees were invited to this circus tent (Circus Mashimus) to sit back, relax and learn about the latest in mobile trends. We have to admit, the skee-ball and popcorn were our favorite parts.
Google Developer’s House featured a LEGO mindstorm hack-a-thon where developers were invited to eat s’mores and build LEGO race bots (controlled by Android) for a tournament that evening:
To round out the night, we went to a party hosted by Fluent at Maria Maria for some delicious Mexican food. Check out this outrageous ice sculpture we found of the late Steve Jobs:
