LifeSize is proud to be a diamond sponsor and exhibitor at Enterprise Connect 2012 in sunny Orlando, Florida. Don’t worry if you can’t make it to the show, VideoConferencingSpot.com will be giving you daily recaps of panels, exhibits and interviews. The night before the show, the LifeSize team had a delicious dinner at Bongo’s Cuban Café in Downtown Disney.
The first panel we attended was “Integrating Video with UC” featuring various end users of video conferencing, including government, consulting and professional services. We learned it’s important to integrate all of the various pieces of UC including voice, video, IM, presence and e-mail. Additionally, companies should be promoting the adoption of video in general, as much as the system itself.
Next, we attended the panel “What’s Next for Mobile in the Enterprise?” which featured a number of telecommunications providers like Verizon, Sprint and Microsoft. In the panel, the speakers shared their predictions of future mobile trends and they discussed what their companies are doing currently to support mobile in the enterprise. Though we use mobile as consumers now, it is becoming more and more prevalent in the business world, especially with the rise of BYOD. Businesses are becoming more mobile and the most important factor is interoperability to drive adoption.
The last panel of the day was “Emerging Video Technologies: What’s Next?”, a topic that is near and dear to our hearts. This discussion reinforced that LifeSize is moving in the right direction and video is more important now than ever. One of our favorite quotes from the session: “In the year 2017, a 28-year-old in your company will expect video. It won’t just be a matter of ROI.” We couldn’t agree more.
