Why We Collect Personal Information
Lifesize collects and uses your personal information to give you superior customer service. In addition, we use your personal information to keep you up-to-date on the latest product announcements, software updates, special offers, and other information we think you'd like to hear about. This may occasionally include information from other technology companies about products and services that can add value to your Lifesize products. From time to time, we may also use your personal information to contact you online or via telephone to participate in a market research survey, so that we can gauge customer satisfaction and develop better products.

- Your title and your company’s name
- Your IP address

In addition, the following types of information will be automatically collected in connection with your use of Lifesize’s products and services, including Lifesize Cloud:
- Device serial number
- Software version
- Connected hardware products
- Custom settings
- Other systems information
- Call data records (such as number of calls, participants, and call duration)
Submission of Personal Information
You may register at our Site and when using our products and services, and provide personal information at such times as when you download Lifesize software, sign into your account, access product information and updates, access our newsletter, register for a seminar, access a portal for technical service or support, or sign into a page that requires authorization. In addition, we may ask you from time to time to participate in a survey. You will know what personal information you submit in each case because you will manually enter the information. If you choose not to register and provide information, you can still use most of the Site. Unfortunately, you will not be able to access areas that require registration.
Automatic Collection of Information
Lifesize automatically collects on our server logs certain information about your computer hardware and software when you visit our Site or use our products or services. This information may include such things as your IP address, operating system, a description of any Lifesize products connected and how such products are used, browser type, domain names, access times, service provider and referring website addresses.
Lifesize and its third party service providers collect non-personal information about how you use our Site through “cookies” (small text files that can be read by a web server in the domain that put the cookie on your hard drive), internet tags (e.g., web beacons) in the aggregate, and track navigational data. To learn more, please read our Cookie Compliance Management page. We also collect information such as the URL of the website you previously visited, the pages you visit within our Site and any transaction details (downloads, requests, etc.). This information is used to understand how you interact with our Site, and to help us optimize our marketing efforts including managing our advertising on other sites providing you ads based on your activities on our Site.
If you wish to manage your preference of being served target ads, you may go to this Consumer Opt-Out page by the Network Advertising Initiative and use the tool to opt out of those companies. Please note that whatever your preference you will continue to receive non-personalized ads. You may also set your browser to notify you when a cookie is set or to refuse or delete cookies altogether, but certain features of our Site might not work.
Social Media Features
This Site includes social network media features, such as the Facebook Like button, and widgets, including the Share button (collectively “Features”). These Features may collect your IP address, which page you are visiting on our Site, and may set a cookie to enable the Feature to function properly. These Features are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our Site, and they allow you the ability to post information about your activities on our Site to your profile page to share with others within your network. Your interactions with these Features are governed by the privacy statement of the company providing it.
Purchase of Products
Any payment information, including credit card information, that you submit through our Site is collected by our payment processor and not collected by Lifesize. Our payment processor is authorized to collect and use the submitted information only for the purposes of providing this service. Please read the privacy statement of our payment processor, viewable where your information is collected.
Retention of Recorded Cloud Content
Customers may enable certain product features to record communication by participants during Lifesize Cloud conferences. When customers have enabled such features, conference recordings in the form of saved videos and chat transcripts (collectively, “Recorded Cloud Content”) may be stored by Lifesize where possible. Depending on the type of Recorded Cloud Content, Lifesize customers may configure the duration of such storage and may delete such Recorded Cloud Content as they choose. Lifesize will take appropriate technical and security measures to protect Record Cloud Content from unauthorized access and/or use. A customer’s use of the Lifesize Cloud recording and storage features is governed by the Lifesize Cloud Terms of Service, and may be de-activated by the customer at any time at the customer’s discretion. Lifesize cannot view or de-encrypt any Recorded Cloud Content without consent from the customer.
Job Applicants, Current and Former Employees
If you use this Site to apply for employment with Lifesize, we will use the personal information you provide to process your application and to monitor recruitment statistics. Unless otherwise required by law, we will not disclose your personal information to a third party (for example, in connection with verifying professional references) without informing you. We may retain personal information about unsuccessful candidates after the recruitment exercise has been completed. We may also retain de-personalized statistical information about applicants to help our recruitment activities. Lifesize’s corporate headquarters is located in Austin, Texas, and employee information and recruitment data is retained there and in other Lifesize locations worldwide. Once a person has commenced employment with Lifesize, we compile a personnel file relating to their employment, and we provide more details about how we retain personal information at that time.
Children's Personal Information
We do not knowingly collect personal information from Site visitors or users of Lifesize’s products or services who are under the age of 13. If we are made aware that we have such personal information, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information.

Use of Personal Information
Sharing Personal Information with Third Parties
Lifesize does not trade, rent or sell customer or user information to unaffiliated companies. However, because Lifesize is a global company, your personal information may be shared with other third parties around the world who work with or support Lifesize in its provision of products and services. For example, we may disclose your personal information in connection with the following:
- Lifesize hires shipping companies to efficiently deliver products to customers, and we provide them with your personal information for shipping and delivery purposes only.
- We may hire affiliated and unaffiliated service providers to provide service to you. For example, we may use an email service provider to submit email communications to you on our behalf. All service providers are subject to strict confidentiality obligations and process your information only on our behalf and subject to our instructions.
- We may share redacted or anonymized information freely, but only after we redact it to ensure that recipients cannot use the data to identify you or link the data to you.
- We may have to disclose information for purposes of protecting your or our legal rights or as required by law or to comply with orders from courts and government entities. We may also be required by mandatory law to disclose your personal information to governmental authorities such as law enforcement agencies in countries where we or third parties acting on our behalf operate.
- We may disclose information to another business entity should we plan to merge with or be acquired by that business entity; or to any organization involved in a merger, transfer, or sale of our assets or business.
- If you post any information in public areas of our Site, such as community forums, blogs or other areas, it will be available to the public and we may reuse and republish such information at our discretion.
- We may disclose information to protect and defend the rights or property of Lifesize, including its Site, or if we believe that disclosure is necessary for the public interest.
Before we disclose your personal information for reasons other than as described above, we will first obtain your consent, for example via e-mail, click-through, an online opportunity to opt-out, or otherwise. In the event that we disclose your personal information to a third party, we will require such third party to protect and maintain your information in compliance with our policies.
Use of non-Personal Information
We also use anonymous and aggregated data to create statistics and reports for various business purposes, including in connection with maintaining functionality of the Site and Lifesize’s products and services, and for marketing related purposes.
Lifesize will periodically send users e-mail messages about our products and services. We also use tracking pixels to determine, in the aggregate, how many people open our e-mails.
Consent to Transfer
Personal information collected through Lifesize’s Site, products or services may be stored and processed in the United States or in any other country Lifesize or its affiliates, subsidiaries or agents maintain facilities. By using this Site, you consent to the collection, processing, maintenance and transfer of personal information outside of your country, including to the United States and other applicable regions in which the privacy laws may not be as comprehensive as or equivalent to those in the country where you reside and/or are a citizen.

You may stop the delivery of marketing e-mails by following the unsubscribe instructions contained in the email received or at the subscription management page on our Site. Lifesize will respond to your request to review the information we have on file for you within 30 days from receiving such request.
We provide you the opportunity to opt-out of having your personal information used for certain purposes whenever we ask for this information. We will retain your information for as long as your user account is active or as needed to provide you services, and as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements.
PROTECTION OF INFORMATION
Lifesize is committed to the protection of your personal information. To ensure your personal information remains confidential, we communicate these privacy guidelines to every Lifesize employee. We also use a variety of security technologies and procedures, including SSL encryption, to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Any information that is collected is stored in a secured database.
Unfortunately, no system in which personal information is transmitted via the internet can ensure complete security 100% of the time. A variety of factors may compromise the security of personal information, including unauthorized entry to or use of our Site, and hardware or software failures. Lifesize cannot guarantee the security of your information transmitted to our Site or through our services. Transmission of your personal information on our Site or through Lifesize’s products and services is at your own risk.
Please also be aware that it remains your responsibility to take the following precautions when using this Site and Lifesize’s products and services:
- Protect your log-in credentials, including your username and password;
- Ensure no one else uses the Site while your device is logged into the Site, including by logging on through a mobile, Wi-Fi or shared access connection you may be using;
- Log-off or exit from the Site when not using it; and
- Secure other account details.

Lifesize has appointed TRUSTe as its dispute resolution mechanism for data security and privacy related complaints. You may raise such a complaint with TRUSTe by submitting this form through TRUSTe’s website, by fax to 415-520-3420 or by mail to TRUSTe’s US or EMEA headquarters at the applicable address available on TRUSTe’s website by clicking here, but in each case only after first contacting our Privacy Officer with your complaint and allowing us a reasonable amount of time to address your complaint.
