Lifesize “Lyncs” to more meetings

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has made more than one splash with the evolution of his company. However, one storyline is particularly appealing to us—the transformation of its business solutions. Building on his predecessor’s shift to a cloud-based Office 365™, Nadella announced that the adoption of Microsoft® Lync® had surpassed more than 100 million enterprise users and then announced the intended transition from Lync to Skype™ for Business.

While neither of these announcements revolutionized the way we work, they highlight a shift to businesses’ adopting technologies that are similar to the ones employees use outside of work. Employees want easy-to-use apps that make them more successful. Businesses want to deliver.

The new face of interoperability

Because of this shift, businesses are focused on deploying affordable, intuitive technology that delivers the same experience as consumer applications, all while optimizing for employee engagement and productivity. For some, that means standardizing on workflows like Microsoft or Google. For others, that means integrating workflow technologies.

Lifesize recognizes the importance of delivering a high quality, business grade video conferencing solution that builds on the way your teams work. With our customers at the center of everything we do, we are pleased to introduce interoperability with Microsoft Lync for our Enterprise Subscription Plan customers. Now, Lync users can call directly from their native app to connect to Lifesize Cloud meetings, without having to download another app.

How it works

Lifesize Cloud sends an email invite to any Lync user, and the user simply clicks the Lync button from within their web browser (the Lifesize Cloud “Call Me” page) to launch the call. No PIN to enter, no passwords, no searching for numbers—just a few clicks, and presto, you are in!
