If you’re like most Microsoft® Outlook® users, you probably spend most of the day with your Outlook client open managing tasks, sending emails and keeping track of your daily meeting schedule. With the new Lifesize Outlook Add-in, we’ve added some additional functionality to help you schedule and make Lifesize video calls right from within Outlook.

Feature Highlights

Intuitive Design

The workflow has been streamlined to align with the consistent, intuitive user experience you see in the Lifesize desktop and web app. From the Outlook ribbon, you’re presented with two options: Schedule Meeting or Quick Invite. And on-screen prompts walk you through either path.

Flexible Scheduling

If you can send a calendar meeting invite, you can send a Lifesize video meeting invite. Click Schedule Meeting and select a virtual meeting room to meet in. The dial-in details are then embedded in the body of a meeting invite, and you’re able to set the date/time and add attendees just like you would any other meeting.

Quick Invite

Quick Invite uses the Lifesize one-time meetings feature for use during the meeting. One-time meetings are hidden from your directory and expire as soon as the meeting has ended. If your account isn’t enabled with one-time meetings, the Quick Invite button will default to just calling you directly instead.

Precall Camera and Audio Check

When starting a meeting from the Outlook Add-in, you have the same ability to check your camera and audio settings as you do when calling from the full Lifesize app. It’s a nice quality-of-life improvement to verify you’re using your preferred mic and camera before jumping on a call.

Automatic Updates

Once installed, your new Lifesize Outlook Add-in will stay up to date with the latest and greatest enhancements as we make improvements and squash any bugs that pop up.
