When we started this project, our goal was to get a realistic view into the life of an everyday IT manager deploying a video conferencing solution. After our first interview, we quickly realized there was more to it than just the happily ever after of a well-executed meeting room.

We’ve all seen the IT Hero ads, with their billowing capes flying triumphantly through the office, but nobody ever talks about what happens when the masks come off. Well, I can tell you — it’s not all sunshine and rainbows on top. I’m using this blog as a platform to get the real message out there. There is real peril that comes with the success for our favorite IT heroes.

Sure, the constant praise and autograph requests look great to a civilian, but what you don’t see are the aching wrists and constant distractions. And as you’ll see in this never-before-seen footage, no IT hero can be prepared for the perils of landing the perfect high five.

Take note of your own soft, well-rested hand, citizen, and count your blessings that you don’t have to ice it every evening.

But it doesn’t stop at the high five. Be sure to subscribe for more chilling details as we uncover more perils of success for our own IT hero.
