Technology veteran joins the company to focus on key strategic market initiatives to bring video collaboration mainstream.

Lifesize, a division of Logitech (NASDAQ: LOGI) (SIX: LOGN), today announced Ray Villareal as its new vice president of the Americas and general manager of global services. Villareal has a proven track record of building winning businesses and creating sustainable growth models of technology in sales, services, marketing and management roles. With a focus on emerging growth companies, Villareal will work to drive broader video adoption in new and existing markets.

“In filling this critical role, we wanted to bring a leader with a fresh perspective to drive business growth and accelerate customer adoption,” said Colin Buechler, chief executive officer of Lifesize. “Ray is a perfect match for our culture of innovation and commitment to growing businesses of all sizes through video communications technology. His combination of tech industry and management expertise will undoubtedly lay the foundation that drives our sales team to achieve even greater levels of success.”

Villareal gained extensive experience during his tenure at WebEx, later acquired by Cisco, and Compaq/Tandem Computers.  He managed field operations for SumTotal Systems and served as chief executive officer of two venture-backed startups.  Most recently, Villareal served as a go-to-market consultant for several technology companies in the collaboration, search and virtualization markets.

“Throughout my career, I’ve had a passion for realizing the true potential of emerging companies and propelling them to remarkable levels of success,” said Villareal. “It was a natural fit for me to align with a video collaboration company I saw poised for tremendous growth. Lifesize is at the forefront of advancing video communications and I’m excited to become a driving force for expanding sales and services as well as making this technology more broadly accessible to companies of all sizes.”

In this new role, Villareal will be responsible for building, leading and maintaining Lifesize’s Americas team and worldwide service organization. He’ll manage the achievement of revenue targets and business objectives, as well as cultivate critical relationships with key partners and customers and lead the global services organization. His past successes with unifying sales, marketing and services organizations to drive a singular customer-focused organization make him the ideal candidate to lead these teams.
