Streaming, recording and auto-publishing from Lifesize now available in Blackboard Learn

Lifesize, a division of Logitech (NASDAQ: LOGI) (SIX: LOGN), today announced integration of its one-button streaming, recording and auto-publishing video solution Lifesize® UVC Video Center™ with the Blackboard Learn™ platform, a leading learning management system. Blackboard Learn serves thousands of higher education, K-12, professional, corporate and government organizations.

As the educational landscape expands to include more digital resources, many educational institutions are turning to HD video to create engaging, multisensory learning experiences for their students. By integrating with Lifesize UVC Video Center, students can view and play back HD-quality video from the Blackboard Learn interface, accessed from any computer, tablet or mobile device with Internet access.

“We are pleased to work with Blackboard to help extend HD video conferencing technology to students of all ages,” said Michael Helmbrecht, vice president and general manager of video solutions for Lifesize. “The possibilities are truly endless through this integration: guest lecture series, video tutoring, live Q&A sessions, distance learning and more. Our goal is to provide enriching educational experiences to students and we believe our integration with Blackboard Learn better enables us to do so.”

As a member in Blackboard Partnerships™ Program, Lifesize is also a part of the Blackboard Developers Network™, an innovative community of technical experts with a passion for using technology to enhance teaching and learning. Within the Network, developers from schools, colleges, universities, associations, government organizations and companies are developing software and applications – Blackboard Building Blocks™ – that extend and enhance the Blackboard learning environment.
