Lifesize Express Recognized for Outstanding Innovation

Lifesize Communications, the global leader in high definition video communications, announced that Pulvermedia (www.pulvermedia.com) has named Lifesize Express a winner of the inaugural VON Magazine Innovator Awards, the foremost listing of innovative companies that represent the future of the Internet communications industry. The 2008 VON Magazine Innovator Awards are designed to recognize the companies and products that continue to build the future of IP communications.

Launched on October 23, 2007, Lifesize Express delivers a high definition, point-to-point video communications experience at a significantly lower price than most standard definition video conferencing systems. About the size of a wireless router, Lifesize Express offers telepresence quality HD video for less than $6,000.

“The VON Magazine Innovator Awards recognize the Internet communications industry’s best and brightest companies, and we’re pleased to include Lifesize Communications as an inaugural winner,” said Doug Mohney, Editor-in-Chief of VON Magazine and Chairman of the VON Innovator Awards Program. “Companies like Lifesize should take pride in their accomplishments, because the selection committee unanimously felt as though it stood apart from the large field of companies that participated in the nomination process.”

“We are honored that VON Magazine and Pulvermedia have chosen to recognize Lifesize Express with this award, and we are pleased to see their recognition that high definition video communications is a key part of the future of IP communications. That future is here now,” said Craig Malloy, CEO and founder, Lifesize Communications. “Today, using existing broadband networks, Lifesize Express delivers a high definition experience that is so lifelike that it can greatly reduce or eliminate the need to travel. Lifesize Express makes telepresence accessible to everyone.”

Applicants were examined by a panel of judges primarily drawn from the VON Magazine editorial community, including: Carl Ford, VP of Content and Community Developer for the VON.x Conference and Expo; Bob Emmerson, European Editor, VON Magazine and Euro Innovations e-newsletter; Ross O’Brien, Asia/Pacific Editor, VON Magazine; Bob Frankston, Frankston Innovating and Joel Maloff, founder of The Maloff Company and a contributing columnist for VON Magazine; and Doug Mohney, Editor-in-Chief, VON Magazine and the von:focus e-newsletter.

About the VON Magazine Innovator Awards

Building on the legacy of the Pulver 100, the VON Innovator Awards have evolved to recognize all companies — start-ups to publicly-traded companies — which represent the future of Internet Communications. Each participating company completed a lengthy and comprehensive nomination process, and the recipients have been selected from a committee made up of VON Magazine editors, columnists, and contributors, as well as the leading content producer for the VON.x conferences.
