Aragon Research defines Hot Vendors as those delivering emerging, innovative or disruptive technologies, expanding capabilities or influencing what is expected of solutions in their respective category. In this year’s report, Aragon Research founder and principal analyst Jim Lundy writes that Lifesize “was one of the first providers to make 4K meetings available at an affordable price point and currently sells 4K-capable meeting room systems for small, medium and large conference rooms.” The report also notes that “what makes Lifesize hot is its ability to provide a web, audio, and 4K video conferencing service that can seamlessly scale to the needs of an entire company while integrating with other workplace tools, including Microsoft Teams, Slack, Office 365, Exchange, Google G Suite, and single sign-on (SSO) providers.1
4K-quality video conferencing has emerged as an essential capability that industry experts expect will soon be as commonplace as the 4K displays now found in nearly all conference rooms. In an earlier report, Lundy wrote: “By year-end 2022, 4K video will become a requirement for video-enabled business applications in healthcare, security, entertainment, and executive-level interactions.”
