Lifesize UK Channel Partner Questmark to Supply and Support Lifesize® Room™ Systems
Lifesize, the high definition video communications company, today announced that Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trusts has selected Lifesize® Room™ to enable advanced research, training and education among its clinicians, administrators and patients. Questmark Limited, a Lifesize channel partner and videoconferencing specialist, will work closely with Nottingham University Hospitals to supply and support the Lifesize Room systems. Lifesize Room is a high definition video communications product that delivers exceptional video and audio quality at any bandwidth, allowing geographically distributed participants to interact more effectively across distances.
“The video and audio quality of Lifesize Room, and the ability to share clinical information at a much higher level than has been available in the past, is incredible,” said Rob Hall from Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trusts’ ICT Department. “Lifesize Room has to be seen by clinicians to understand the full extent of its potential uses in healthcare.”
The Trust has years of experience utilizing traditional videoconferencing systems for a number of administrative and clinical applications. While the quality and information sharing available through legacy systems provided a base means of deploying and using videoconferencing, the Trust still recognized that limited quality restricted their ability to effectively leverage videoconferencing for more significant advances. The Trust had continually been seeking ways to address these limitations and, with the availability of high definition video communications from Lifesize, the ability to fulfill their long-term intentions could finally be realized.

One recent development within the combined Trust has been the opening of a new state-of-the-art centre for the treatment of blood disease. The unit, which was the first in the UK to receive European (JACIE) accreditation as a centre of excellence in bone marrow transplantation, was officially opened on October 4, 2006 and heralds in a new era of modern facilities for patients from Nottingham and beyond. Centre staff will offer a full range of clinical and support services for people with leukemia, lymphoma, melanoma, sickle cell disease and bone marrow transplantation, using Lifesize Room to connect patients and clinicians across the various facilities.
